So some time ago over a family dinner, I casually mentioned I’d pretty much resigned myself to never tracing my natural father and/or his family. I’ve made tentative efforts in the past, but yeah, that ocean in the way and nothing to go on, bar a not uncommon name, a place he worked in five decades ago (long since out of business), and a reasonably accurate idea of conception dates… that’s not a lot to work with.
Then my partner surprised me with an early anniversary present – a DNA testing kit from ancestry.com.
What’s the worst that could happen?
